So if the woman is closer to God, she will make a better teacher. I am not disputing that God's way of doing things but note the verse about women being subject, also mentions men not disputing and being wrathful. Both are to be in quietness before God, both are to be subject to him. But hey to be honest I am not going to run up to my pastor when she gets back from her mission trip and say hey look woman be subject to me I am a man, it is God who exults and God who lowers, and I do actually believe some women have put a lot more work into their prayer lives than men. But how would I deal with Pauls verse, about women not teaching? Maybe in the Jewish culture that was acceptable, but maybe even God knows it is better to move with the times. Look I would be terrified of crossing horns with my woman pastor, she has more of God's presence than I do.

Hi mate - just my two cents worth on that statment before I was a believer I gave no thought to anything other than my own world, and there was not too much wrong with me, but I was never at all concerned about the poor or important issues like that. Once I became a believer God began to show me through the bible how important it is to have an attitude of giving. For me God's work in my life led me to add more value to the world than I did before, so I see mission trips as an opportunity for more blessing.
Hey I love God he is awsome.

News flash...You are STILL in your "own LITTLE world" honey. You deity is nonexistant and the only thing that is real is your own limited intellect.
Now what are you going to actually DO instead of mind wanking??

Let us look round the female world; what shall we find but weakness of head and corruption of heart, intolerable trifling, or destructive industry? A giddy tribe of useless things, made up of noise and nonsense, envy, malice, impertinence, and show? Mere murderers of time, averse to all that's good, and prone to all that's naught; proud only of what serves to humble them, and never humble but when 'tis base to be so; and but a fairer kind of fiends disguised in angels dresses, whose actions are the best antidote to the poison of their charms? Here their insatiable incontinence renders their beauty shocking; there their modesty is meant a cover to their own lust and an incentive to yours. In one house, you see a pretty, foolish, lifeless, moving statue; in another, a homely, bookish, pert prating Doctress, a retailer of cross-cross sentences, whose brain is a mere lottery-wheel of sense and nonsense drawn alike by chance, five hundred blanks to one prize, of no worth when examined. In a third you meet with a housewifely shrew, a sober slut, an ignorant cypher, a gossiping politician, or a learned slattern. In a fourth a litigious cheat, a virago, bully, or phantom frighted at the crow of a cock. And everywhere you are sure to find an inconsistent set of fickle creatures, never for a minute themselves, but when most unlike us and nearest being unlike themselves; and never steady in anything but folly, vice and fickleness. ~Some gentleman, 1978
Has NOTHING to do with the massive size of my cock.
I used to tell a lot of religious jokes. Not any more, I'm a registered sects offender.

There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus" - Gal 3:26. So from that verse we see God does not make a distinction between genders.
However 1 Timothy 2:11-12 mandates that women learn in silence and submission, forbidding women to have teach or have any authority over men and be silent.
1 Corinthians 11:5-6 mandates that women who pray or prophesies must have their heads covered as well as being silent during services.
Ephesians 5:22-24 mandates that wives must submit to their husbands in everything, although the next few verses talk about husbands loving their wives in return. Much the same message about wives submitting to their husbands is in 1 Peter 3:1.
It is no wonder why the Catholic church, along with many conservative Protestant churches oppose women priests, deacons, pastors and elders. In this video by Pastor Jack Schaap he basically defends his sexist views biblically.

UGH! That is PAINFUL to watch. I refer to my earlier comments.
First of all, it sounds like he's mocking his own congregation at several points. Secondly, WOMEN go to that church? Third, WHAT?! Fourth, he must think that God wrote the Bible in KJV English to support that argument. Read the Greek buddy, you're completely wrong about what the Bible says about women. Fifth, WHAT?! Sixth, you realize you're basically putting yourself in the place of God, Jack Schaap? The ego on that one.
Has this guy been caught soliciting male prostitutes yet? If not, look forward to it.

Actually guys like Jack Schaap in this case are not cherry picking what the New Testament says about how women and men should interact. Particularly that women are forbidden to teach or exercise authority over men. Although Jack is a more upfront about this stuff than many Evangelical and Catholic clergy who hold the same views.
Also I was paraphrasing from a modern translation (Holman Standard Christian Bible to be precise) not the KJV. Might I add as well why the hell do I need to read what these verses mean in Greek. Is it not the job of the translators to as accurately as possible translate what the text says.

I wouldn't say cherry picking, because that view on women, called complementarianism, is actually pretty popular. At this point probably less than 50% of Christians believe it, but you're right, that is a common one.
The mention of the KJV I made is just a joke about fundamentalists who argue that the KJV is the only valid version of the Bible. My mention of the the Greek is actually valid here since he's arguing that the man as "head" of the woman means he's her boss, which is actually a misunderstanding of the Greek word "Kaphale" which people mistake pretty often. It shows a lack of familiarity with the Greek.
