Vegans & meat grown in a lab

Would a vegan eat meat if the sentient dies of natural causes?

See that can be a motivator, but the end result is often the person developing a sort of aversion towards meat.

To make it easier to understand consider this, carnivores like me hate veggies, I am not gonna eat any stupid veggies unless there is meat or fish involved, I don't care if those veggies are lab grown or not, I am not going near em! Tongue

That’s a difficult question. If someone is an ethically motivated vegan, then it’s possible that they would, but it would depend on the circumstances. If it was an animal that lived freely and died through no human interference, then perhaps. It’s hard to imagine this being too much of a regular occurrence for someone who isn’t going out looking for such things. If someone else was being paid to do it for them, there would always be the concern that it wasn’t being done as described.

An aversion to meat is certainly something I’ve developed and I wouldn’t be surprised if it was common among ethical vegans, as has been mentioned.

As a vegan, it sounds really weird to me that "lab grown" sounds somehow uninviting, when I consider the alternative.

I imagine vegans taste better than lab grown meat.

Though that's not saying much as vegans are bony, stringy, and taste of tofu...

...so I've heard.

I’m a fat weakling, but I probably would taste of tofu, yeah. I used to be bony and stringy when I was active and healthy.

My brother is a highly toned, strong vegan. I don’t know what he would taste like.

Insects have a short life span, could die naturally and supply protein. Other than being insects, would that be an option for ethical vegans? I guessing that the insects would be farmed so that violates the "live freely" constraint.

Maybe I'll start harvesting truck stop grills.

The best-tasting bugs come from a Freightliner grill!
