If it moves it's a threat and must die.

If it doesn't move it's a cunning threat and must die.

You need to go to Oz and meet a funnel web.

Vicious little bastards.

When my parents bought a new house I helped tgem move. When I was moving some gear into the garage one appeared and tried to chase me out.

I won.

You didn’t answer the question. You said there’s a difference between raising an animal for food verses killing a wild animal for food and implied that one is worse than the other. Please explain the difference then.
We judge cannibals, to be completely honest with ourselves, because we value human life over other animals. People can deny it but it’s true for the vast majority of us. Maybe I’m an immoral. Maybe I’m a terrible person...but I do value human life over other animals. I also value dogs over cows and horses over lambs. I don’t know really know what exactly causes these feelings. It just seems like the more easily you can have a relationship with something the more important they become. For me at least.
From the perspective of an anti hunter (which i point out i am not ) one is worst then the other . Same as hunter would likely be sickened by a person eating a dog and the dog eater would likely be sickened by the cannibal . Thus for the anti  hunter their is no hypocrisy in finding the idea of killing a deer in the wild immoral unless his critic is willing to look at their own prejudice .

My whole point of my original post was simply to point out bikers argument isn't a good counter to the condemnation of hunting .

Your " ethics" are somewhat suspect.

You'e willing to eat an animal that was raised for your dinner table. An animal with no freedom and no choices. Odds are it didn't even get the chance to reproduce. You abdicated it' s demise to some unknown agent so you wouldn't even have to face it' s death or soil yourself with it' s blood.

I'd call that lazy, self serving and dishonest.

Perhaps you should become a vegetarian.
It isn't my "ethics" and my question is would or wouldn't you condemn the eating of domestic dogs or even people ?. If not does that not put you in the same category as the people you condemn ?

A better argument might be based on how skilled the hunter is. Domestic is almost always an instant death, hunting............ well, I sure you've seen the manglers.

If I find myself so forsaken as to have become a republican, I too would want to kill things.

Personally, I'm sickened by people who buy their dogs from puppy mills. That just supports and promotes the cruelest of all treatments of dogs. And usually they don't get a quick and humane death either. Sadly, my Childperson is a repeat offender (purchaser). Even after paying out the ass to buy them and then paying even more in vet bills over the years because of all the nasty problems that have been "purebred" into them. She still doesn't get it. And for the record, she doesn't eat meat. The two are obviously not connected.
