My opinion - origin of the universe?

RE: My opinion - origin of the universe?
It's a logical fallacy Stucky. It has nothing to do with "evolutionists" until one applies it as an argument against evolution, which is a demonstrable fact.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

If you say it then it must be true. I must accept your statements on faith I guess.

Arrrrrgh Stucky will you please READ what people are saying?

They are not calling you ignorant, they are saying your argument is an argument FROM IGNORANCE OR INCREDULITY. To explain: You cannot understand how such and such a thing happened, therefore God did it. It's an appeal to God because you don't know any better. That is not evidence for God. Is this really that hard to understand?

And you are making an accusation without substance. If you have a response, please make it so I can reply. Looks like the shoe is on the other foot today Rhythm.

Seriously Rhythm, don;t fault me for responding to replies, make your argument so I can respond to it.

And I pointed out that your original claim was never supported and yet you expect others here to refute it. That's not how it works. If you make a claim, you must support it with evidence if you expect anyone to take it seriously. Otherwise, you argument gets file 13ed.

@Stucky: Just because you are old, that doesn't mean you can't learn new things, I was just telling ya the post was screwed.

People can learn at all times in life so, before you go further into these subjects I advise you to read something on evolution. Its not hard.

Nah, you don't have to take anything I say on faith.

ARRRRRGH ElDinero, will YOU read what YOU are saying? You are calling me ignorant, "from ignorance" i.e. ignorant. To explain, I understand how it happened but I only offered my opinion and didnt denigrate anyone else's opinion by calling them ignorant. All I have done is offer replies to the responses I received. Is this so hard for YOU to understand?

Why are you all getting so mad? I dont understand it.

I'm wondering if there is a specific reason why Stucky ignores my responses to his posts. Hmm.

Because it's not an insult, you idiot. THAT was an insult.

Ignorance in and of itself is not an insult. Watch: I am ignorant about quantum physics, and marine biology, and the details of the beliefs of Hindus, and any number of other topics. It's not calling you ignorant, it's saying your argument is either uninformed or misinformed, therefore THE ARGUMENT is ignorant ie ignorant of evidence.

Goodness me, you're hard work. How are you getting on working out why homosexuality is wrong, by the way?

RE: My opinion - origin of the universe?
You know it just dawned on me that you apparently don't realize that ID also depends on the demonstrable fact of evolution. The disagreement is over the mechanism. Evolution by Natural Selection is a theory in the same way as Evolution by Intelligent Design. The difference between the two is that Natural Selection is supported by mountains of evidence, ID is not.

To give a quick and dirty example of this; Extinction events largely affect animals of similar circumstance, be it size, diet, etc. When the environment changes the eventual winners are usually also very similar (though here and again things slip through the cracks, such as ourselves). This is the essence of natural selection. It is a non-random process. Parameters are set by environmental pressures, organisms compete or die.
