Weird. I ordered a microSD card from Best Buy. It's showing both a USPS and UPS tracking number. What the heck? What is going on? How many packages does it take to ship a microSD card?

In two hours I'm headed out to the Mall of America to start my Christmas shopping. Whee! I have no idea what to get people so I'm hoping to spark some ideas by browsing through the mall.

Just discovered this Reddit post someone wrote about his son's descent into inceldom. While there are some rumours that this may be fake (possibly due to just how much of a dumpster fire this son has become, and how good everyone else is, particularly this unusually generous poor black boy who's dating the family's daughter), if it's fake, it's a damn good one whose only flaws are A) that it's too good, and B) he seems to have trouble conveying the passage of time in his writing.

The most striking thing about this account is the illustration of the blatantly ridiculous tension between how important it is for them to get laid and how important it is that whichever woman they latch onto or whoever actually gives them the time of day be a virgin, and how, disturbingly often, it leads to pedophilia, because their unrealistically high standards of chastity end up only leaving small children as viable options (in their mind at least), and this becomes shockingly apparent early in the story. And near the end of the story, we get to see the ultimate conclusion of a mindset that embraces the ideal of virginity as the greatest good for women (hidden because it's really fucking disgusting):



Regardless of whether it comes from a desire to keep people from the most horrific consequences of sex, or out of a desire to be a repressive asshole, this is the logical conclusion of those premises.

Well, the weirdness is over, at least for now. Talking to CPS about a situation I get drug into only when it blows up, ick. Sounds like the outcome might end up OK, no foster care for the 6yr old........ yet. Will have to wait and see if the mom can get her shit together with CPS assistance. I'd give it about a 50/50 chance at this point.

Yeah, if only they put the sort of effort into at least making themselves seem halfway decent that they already put into justifying misogyny, violence, or pedophilia, they could be a valuable resource in giving those of us who can't actually get a girlfriend tips on how to succeed.
