Slept in today, felt sooo good. Going to work out soon then off to buy some things to make a homemade pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving. I'm a far better baker than I am a cook, so it should be fun.

Went downtown to pick up a bottle of tequila at Target, as much just for something to do as to buy tequila. So, mission accomplished, I start touring the store, basically up to no good. Last week I bought an Instant Pot as a Christmas gift for my sister and brother-in-law. It was a choice between that and the functionally identical Crock Pot brand one that was $15 cheaper. I figured if they wanted, they could trade down after Christmas. Well, looking at them today, they've dropped the price on the Crock Pot one. It's now $35 less. I don't think I can ignore that difference, so tomorrow I think I'll trade the Instant Pot for the cheaper one and figure out some additional gift for them on account of the difference. *sigh*

Listening to music on my portable mp3 player with corded headphones. It's comforting because it's a playlist of favorite music, instead of having to depend on someone else's playlist or scrambling to assemble a list of songs. Unfortunately I've only got two playlists of such music, totaling 500-750 songs total. So I listen to the same songs a lot. I need to make a new playlist. But that involves winamp and a bunch of work using less than optimal tools. So I put it off and put it off. Some day.

Just read in the New York Times that the Centers for Disease Control is recommending all romaine lettuce in the US should not be consumed and should be thrown out because of an E. coli outbreak. Checked the salad mix in my fridge that I bought for Thanksgiving dinner and yep - it has romaine in it. Damn. Maybe I can get a refund.

Also fucked up one of my pumpkin pie crusts by accidentally using too much flour. Had to dump it out and start over. Things can only get better from here!
