Hmmm ... I've read hundreds, if not thousands of brain MRI reports. I don't think I ever once read that a patient complained about any sort of memory disruption. Yeah, I mentioned that to Everena above but she decided to ignore it. I'm thinking loss of consciousness at best. More likely complete decoherence and severing of the soul.
And if we're receiving our consciousness from elsewhere, why does it all seem to be conscious of right here and now? Rather than some distant galaxy or some other dimension or somesuch?

And to further trick us, we *just happen* to see the parts of the brain "light up" on MRI's in the regions we know are responsible for the functions of consciousness involved, being studied during the scan, and to trick us even further, the time (nano-seconds, or fractions of seconds, are measurable from the "light up" to reported consciousness). Those tricky little devil gods, and tricky little souls.

Take it easy. She may be in the early phases of deconverting. Too smart to fall for organized religion but hasn't gotten clear of the woo yet. Still needs god even though she can't bring herself to believe religion, so she's cobbled one together from whatever makes the most sense.
