Yeah. There's no situation that can't be improved by the addition of more guns.

Yeah, that's why they predominately end up taking lives without actually providing any of said defense.

I can accept that handguns are for self defence.

AR15s, AK47s, and semi-automatic assault style weapons are making up for inadequacies in other areas.

They were when guns and a few cannons were all the government had. That day might come again, but currently it's absurd to think that a rabble, sorry, I mean "militia", could stand up against the US Army.
