Is that a plus or a minus?

I like this.
The off topic bit is, I admit, sometimes hard to judge, so I expect some lenience on that. Of course, the rock crushers are out And I like the 30/30 idea from vulcan, too... though... I'm not sure it's needed. I think it goes without saying that this doesn't mean that non-[serious] threads should now become prime targets for jokes and off topic. Serious discussions can be had in threads not marked [serious], just like before, right? (December 14, 2018 at 10:47 am)Shell B Wrote: Humor isn’t forbidden. Also, if they’re dry, not a lot of people will participate, which means very little policing. Fill in the blank, "Nobody puts....."........" in the corner." Clue, instead of an "O" on both ends, and "hi" in the middle, the blank to be filled in has an "A" on both ends. But little ol me wouldn't bring that up over and over would I? Is that "dry" or "wet" or, "Somebody please shoot him."? (December 14, 2018 at 10:42 am)Aoi Magi Wrote: Serious discussion without humor or minor offtopic posts seems quite a dry thread. Sure it makes sense in places like the debate section and such, but content policing of individual posts wherever and whenever sounds like a huge pain for both parties involved There’s not a ban on humor, but it should be limited. The intention of serious threads is to promote intelligent discussion without people being able to come in and post something irrelevant to try and derail the thread, or to just insult the OP or other participants. Nobody is forced to participate in these threads, so if you see a red thread, avoid it RE: Make Atheist Forums Great Again (Part 2)

While I have no problem with this idea, I do think there are a handful of members here who can't tolerate views contrary to their own that will be drawn to the [serious] threads for the sole purpose of disrupting them as well as they can while skating just this side of the rules.

Moderators do that now, apparently. Just ask a question that pisses off the rest of the thought police. BrianSoddingBoru will be happy to troll you and call you a cunt for not allowing yourself to be bullied by the mob. Because that's professional behavior for someone who represents this site, or something...
Moderators are in no way required to be professional. We are just regular members who volunteer to help keep the wine rack stocked.
