Huggy, that’s an MMA issue, not a gender identity issue.

I don't see how it's just an MMA issue... All things being equal, biological man has a physical advantage over a biological female, a man "identifying" as a female does not change that fact.

How do you suggest they handle this issue?

There are meaningful differences between men and women besides biology. That doesn't affect society.

When a transwoman loses in a sport against other women, not a mention of it in the media. When it does happen that a transwoman actually does win in a sport against other women, all of a sudden it's big news and everyone becomes hysterical.
