We can state with confidence that there are more cis (and binary) "silence of the lambs crazy bitches" by brute force of demographics.  If any of the ladies in the ladies room are going to do harm to my daughters it would be a straight white cisgendered female. I'd worry more, frankly, that some cis male is going to touch my sons in the men's room.

Honestly, I tend not to worry about other peoples imaginary boogeymen, though. We're discussing people, not monsters..that you perceive them -as- monsters probably goes a long way to explaining your comments and opinions. Here's something to consider. You probably don't have an accurate count of how many trans (or non binary) people you've met or interacted with. You're looking for bigfoot..so you don't notice Stephanie.

What you're thinking of, what you have in mind when you hear the word trans..is, apparently, a kidnapping child molester. Can you appreciate how this is a "you" problem, not a "them" problem?

No I'm not trans, I've worn dresses and had bows in my hair at times in my life though.

You asked me what I would do if a monster followed my daughter into the bathroom.  If you didn't think it had something to do with trans people you wouldn't have asked.  The folks over here making potty laws get alot of mileage out of the same less-than-subtle conflation.

I think that an ounce of self awareness would go a long way on this issue, not just in your case, but in the general case.

See, I've actually seen what sexual confusion looks like, and the very real dangers that come from it.  I lived through it as a teen.  And anywhere there's any level of confusion, rage, or anxiety, this is likely to make people act in unpredictable ways.  I know this from personal experience.

Now, my experience is that it's the ones on that cutting edge who are most unpredictable-- like the "straight" priest who offers kids an extra bowl of soup from the kitchen if he'll stay after to help "clean up," or the jock who is just in the process of realizing he's gay.  

Psych research upholds this-- for example, post-office or completely transitioned trans people fare better than those in transition.  But the problem is that there are a million gradations of realization and acceptance, and all kinds of dysphorias that come along with it.  Just saying, "Oh. . . you identify as female?  Well, that's swell!" is another example of those PC positions that aren't, in my opinion, very well thought-out.

The danger of sexual confusion, and..here again...an ounce of self awareness would go a long way..neither trans nor gender non binarism is some blanket case of confusion...is an issue of danger to the "confused" person, not to my daughters in a bathroom they share.

We make laws to protect ourselves against people who need protection from us. We don't just do this on the one subject under consideration, either. It's part of a larger batshit trend in human behavior.

Any stressor makes a person more volatile, Gae.  And many pre-transition trans or "non-binary" people are in an extremely high state of anxiety indeed.  That's because cognitive dissonance is a bitch.

I want to hear more from Jehanne.  Has she ever lashed out in rage?  Ever had a day where she felt like she was a couple comments away from murder?  Or harming herself?  If she hasn't, then she's a stronger person than I'll ever be.

We're the stressor.  Though, this theory of stress turning a trans person into a child molesting bathroom rage monster might need some work.
