Why do I keep having this same dream or at least a variation of it

Why do I keep having this same dream or at least a variation of it
The premise of these dreams is that I can't contact my Mom. Like I will be talking to her and then all of the sudden she is unreachable and she can't hear me. Frequently it's over a telephone. There are usually other things going on. Like I'm trapped somewhere or someone is attacking me. For example, last night I had a dream where I was being attacked by this ghost. I was sitting up against a wall talking to my Mom and then i asked for her help but suddenly she wasn't there. I then started shooting at the ghost and the dream ended. I have had this sort of variation of a dream 4 times over the last 3 months. The weird thing I'm 25 so i'm fairly independent. I love my Mom of course and vice versa. But the fact I keep having this dream is really freaking me out. What's your guys' take?

Botched lobotomy?

Most of my dreams are usually anxiety. Just be glad you're not fighting the Viet Cong every night. I always woke up tired.

No, I'm not quite that old. Just had a thing for that war, hated it but couldn't look away, watched all that I could. My consumption tended to infest my dreams.

My only experience with recurring dreams is one time when I woke up after having what seemed to be a recurring dream, but then I realized that the dream had only been a dream about recurring dreams.

I have had a recurring nightmares off and on for many years. Deep dark stuff, unspeakable stuff that I don't talk about. PTSD is a fucking bitch.

Sounds like a dream that stems from a disagreement.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.
