Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

How does that work? How does the kid know who is carrying?

And who is going to stop a kid who is packing a loaded gun from simply waltzing into the school?

What are you going to use? Harsh words? Threats of " a time out"?

Clearly you haven' t thought this one through.

I'll walk you through it.  Pay close attention as some of this may be on the final exam.

1.  If armed teachers are going to be a deterrent, then it will be necessary to arm ALL teachers  (if NOT all teachers are armed, it's going to be a lousy deterrent).

2. Metal detectors are remarkably good at detecting metal.  Most guns and all bullets contain copious amounts of metal.

I hope this helps clear it up for you.

You really should take a minute to google "teacher fires weapon in school".  It doesn't seem like it's all that difficult to work out when a teacher is packing.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. And again, it is bullshit to assume all teachers have perfect lives and no personal problems. IE, my drunk father.

And Comey, a career FBI agent has said this is a bad idea because teachers don't have the muscle memory stress shooting training required, which would be 100s of hours per month., which they would not have time to upkeep.

1. No. All teacher's do not need to be armed - and It's unlikely any union would allow a teacher to be forced to carry. You are just making shit up here.

2. Duh. Sure - and they repell firearms as well? If a kid drives up to the steps, gets out of the car and starts firing - he' s going right past your metal detector.

You won't need it - the bullets flying past will clue you in that the kids armed and dangerous.

Try harder.

Keeping guns out of schools really does seem like a no brainer - but we live in the dumbest possible timeline, now, so who knows. I don't personally see the point of bickering over how many teachers would need to be armed (the answer is zero, anyway, zero teachers need to be armed, lol).

One armed teacher inside your perimeter is at least one gun, behind you, past all your metal detectors and the majority of your security.

If it' s so easy for a kid to take away a gun from a teacher (and the kid doesn't know which teachers are carrying guns) - then it should be a simple matter for the teacher to take the gun away from the kid. Easier - the teacher KNOWS who has the gun.

And if you find that laughable - you now understand how I think about the idea of the kid taking away the teacher's gun.
If the kid is in the back of the room with a gun and the teacher is at the desk the teacher has, say, 29 bullet stops to use on his way to the back of the room.

In that scenario, where is the deterrent factor of armed teachers?  It hasn't deterred anything.

And while metal detectors do work, where does it stop, because schools are not the only place active shooters happen? This is ridiculous expecting every business, every grade school, every middle school, every high school, every bar, every shopping center, every movie theater, every office building in the country to have metal detectors just to coddle the insecurities of Rambo wannabes?

The cheapest way to reduce firearm violence is to vet better at the time of sale, waiting periods, theft proof gun safes, red flag laws for disturbed or mentally ill people, regardless of motive.

They're shooting at the kid from the windows, Boru.  Getting bullets going both ways in front of a school.

It isn't about coddling anyone's insecurities, it's about making tougher to get a gun into a school.
