Yeah, you get used to it. Today's was a bit unnerving, but I could tell by the wave action that is was a long way off. The Northridge quake was terrifying. I had three young children at home and shit was falling over and out of cabinets. I ended up shoveling up enough glass and ceramics to fill several 5 gallon buckets, and 112 linear feet of block wall fence fell over. Not in my neighborhood, but there was literally fire coming out of the ground where a natural gas main ruptured. The after shocks were nerve-wracking but not as intense. It got to the point where we'd feel the rumble, wake up, the rumbling stopped, and we'd go back to sleep.

I’d probably be out on the local high school’s football field listening to some local band and waiting for the fireworks if not for one thing:





Fortunately, I have a backup plan. And it involves my DVD of 1776.

Spent a couple of hours doing archery this afternoon, and achieved a new goal doing it.
