Remember that those people would kill me too if it served their cause.
But they believe the same god as you. Their interpretation of the texts might be different, but then, regarding gods, its very hard to have grounds to reason.

Especially with the advent of mobile phones and social media we saw locals doing disasters and carry on barbaric killing sprees.
But we don't need American airstrikes to increase the body count.
So, maybe those silly terrorists, and all of the apologists who silently support them, should've thought about that before we decided to spank an entire region of the world for almost two decades straight.
Right or wrong, moral or not, America is the biggest, baddest bully on the block. Something you should seriously consider before you decide to pick a fight.

I was home from working nights and Trich called (we where still dating at the time) and said 'we' are under attack. Having been a sleep for 3 hours at that point I told her to hang up and called the cops, she said no some terrorist flew a plane into the twin towers, (at the time in orlando there was this pink double high rise hotel called the twin towers) I asked her what she was doing in the disney area and she said no in nyc. she told me to turn on the TV and right then saw the second plane hit live, I was like is this a joke.. she said no and then the news said disney maybe a target as well..
We met up at her work and I bought a news paper which headlines where some city council man had a melt down.
I remember thinking how simple life was and how this was going to change everything forever.
My best friend lived in DC when you went out on his street turn left and you could see the dome of the capitol building. He made it out ok, but it took a few days to hear from him because the phone lines where messed up.
I actually drove up to DC a few weeks later.. wow like a military state. humvees on every other corner national guardsmen on foot and on patrol in the streets. I think I have a pic of the pentagon (the side that is next to the highway with a bradley fighting vehicle (mini tank) point towards any cars that might want to skip the raiing and bee line towards the building. The next year I flew into boston where the planes left from and they where still up armored with tactically outfitted cops/soldiers with mp5 and attack dogs.

I was a little kid at home. It was big on the news. Everyone was surprised and saying USA was going to war against who did it. They were right.

True enough, but improvements have been made on the original model.

It was a kick in the gut, and a very sudden fear of the unknown. My wife's factory let everyone go shortly after the second tower fell. She came home and both of us were just horrified and didn't know what to expect.
Working as a Home Health Nurse in San Diego. Heard about the attack listening to the Howard Stern Show in my car. Walked into my clients home and said "Odelay Vato, check it out!" Flipped on his TV and saw the plane hit the second tower.

Some predicted the end times. But to be honest everybody saw America as an enemy that got what they deserve for targeting Muslim civilians..
Mmmm were people around here happy that an American behemoth like the WTC was turned to rubble ? I guess when you bomb the countries of others you can't expect them not to smile when you get the same treatment,,
I don't remember much about the event. The invasion of Iraq in 2003 carried a far more memories
In our species history, there certainly is the old argument of "Point of View" in that one group's hero is another group's villain.
It disturbs me to know that my Japanese X wife's grandparents supported the attack on Pearl Harbor. At the same time, it also disturbs me that it took two acts off mass murder in the bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki to end the war.
But there cannot be an equivocation between the fascism of Japan, or Hitler vs how America responded to their attacks. Just like I don't want you personally dead because I know you don't like the government you live under. It still remains that Saudi Arabia is not an open pluralistic state. I also have a problem with North Korea and China. I don't want more war at all, but there is still a huge difference between a more open west, and more closed states in the middle east and east.
I am sure you'd agree that Hitler and Stalin were monsters. And as much as I hated what Japan did in starting a war with America, I cannot blame my X wife who wasn't alive then for what happened before she was born. Just like I cannot blame you for what your leaders do even now.
And trust me, while Afghanistan was far more understandable, not everyone in America was happy with the lies that got us into Iraq.

I was at work in a military hospitals medical records department. I was the manager. I'd had a few bad experiences with temps so I just assumed it was someones first day at flight control over New York. We've all had bad days.

The Middle East has had a bad decade, or two, or three... or four... or...
