You guys heard of Turo?
December 1, 2019 at 10:58 pm
It's airbnb for cars...
Call me old fashioned, but I don't subscribe to Uber, Airbnb, Turo or any other shite which may come along in the near future...
(including one being tested now for renting out your backyard swimming pool by the hour. No thanks! I just like drinking my own piss only! Weird huh
)
I like my life simple...

Yeah.
I’ll stick to my car.
And if I ever catch complete strangers in my pool...

On a side note, I wouldn't imagine swimming pools in NZ to be a "thing"...

Considering that streets of many cities are clogged with parked cars it does seem that car ownership is an archaic idea. So no wonder that people are trying to find some modern solutions.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Agreed. I don't foresee an end to car ownership any time soon, but I think - between the crowding you mentioned and the environmental impact - the way we get about is in for some significant changes.
