Why I hate food critics....

Why I hate food critics....
Can someone say a parent, friend, restaurant can cook something great? Of course. If you like mushrooms, certainly you've had food with mushrooms on it that you thought sucked, and other foods with mushrooms you thought was great. I hate mushrooms, so it doesn't matter what the dish is.

Just now I was watching a food travel show on cable TV, and it was the second episode where a hot dog establishment claimed to refuse to put ketchup on hot dogs. I love ketchup on hotdogs.

I could care less. I also hate morons who claim a steak should be medium rare at best. I have always liked my steaks well done. I've even dipped my steaks  in ranch dressing.

Food isn't a fucking class or tax bracket. It is something everyone needs to survive. Food to me, is simply what you like. Now if one wants to argue, "I like the way this person, joint, does what I like", that is one thing. But for any asshole to claim someone else has to like what they do are fucking assholes.

Food is a lot like religion. Just because one likes it one way, does not mean everyone has to eat it or like it.

A hot dog snob?

The worst part of telling them to stick it up their ass is the coy look that then crosses their face.......

Then you know how they're warming them up.....

You realize that in this post, you are behaving like a food critic, right?

NO,

No, an  asshole says, "You have to like what I like, even if you don't like it."

An asshole says "If you hate mushrooms you should be shot at dawn or stuck in German ovens." Even if they like mushrooms, they have to hate mushrooms even if you like mushrooms".

If one likes mushrooms, which I do not, I am fine with that.

What I am talking about, more specifically with  business owners, who make bullshit "laws" about not serving this or that.

I do not care about what  others like, But I am sure  going to sell you what you like.

NO,

Non asshole says, "You like what you like, even if it is something I don't like"

An asshole says "If you hate mushrooms you should be shot at dawn or stuck in German ovens."

Nonsense.

This clearly shows that people who prefer their steak in a way that differs from yours are 'morons'.  If you really didn't care, this wouldn't bother you as much as it obviously does.

No Boru

The people who like their steaks rare, or medium rare are FINE WITH ME.

The only people I call "Morons". are the assholes who insist I eat the same food the same way.

I get people like different foods cooked differently. I get that the individual likes different tastes. I only get upset when ANYONE claims that food is a script.

If you like Oysters fine. If you like clams, fine. If you like scallops, fine. If you like cooked cabbage, fine.

I hate all that. But I will never tell a friend or family member not to like it or not eat it, because I hate it. All I will ever say to anyone about that is to not invite me to a meal where those things are involved. My "hate" of the listed above, IS MY PERSONAL TASTE, not a demand that others cant like what I am not into.

The greatest meal on Earth is at the end of a 15+ mile yomp with full kit.
It could be stinking road kill, but at that moment nothing tastes better.

I never understood the idea of critics, be it for food, music, clothing... what makes their opinion better than mine?
If I like something that's it, why should I care if they don't like it?

They're supposed to be experts in their respective field, sort like someone educated in a natural science field of expertise or whatever education.

But IDK, seems like they're doing something anyone can get good at without much practice.
