Boru
What's up with that, anyway? My wife has been wanting to make bread for weeks, and there's no yeast to be found around here, either.

Holy shit far too many are not taking this virus seriously. Here in coastal NC, I just went shopping today, and they had way too many customers there to make the social distancing work. And when I asked the employee walking in to wipe down the cart, he didn't wipe the entire thing down. He said, "I am under time constraints". Believe me I get it, even outside this virus the corporate CEOs hand down bullshit minimal protocol and expect the same shit to work when slam busy. I wasn't pissed at him. I knew he was doing his best.
But when I complained to the store manager about the need for workers to have the time he asked me "Who" meaning "Who didn't do their job?" I responded in a very loud voice, because I know what it is like to work short staffed and not having enough supplies, "DON'T BLAME THEM, BLAME CORPORATE!"
. I worked at major corporations on and off my working life, and I can tell you, it is FUCKING BULLSHIT to always blame the employee.

Are you not capable of wiping down the cart yourself?
Long before this virus I saw people wiping down their carts...all by themselves.

Not the point. If the business is going to be open, it isn't the employee's fault if the owner cant or wont supply the employee with the supplies and time they need.
We are not dealing with times as normal. And those clerks and stockers ARE risking their lives. The CEOs are not. The billionaire CEOs have the luxury of distance and health insurance.

Though I can't imagine how clean you would get a cart by yourself if you have beer bottles rolling around on the floor of your 'brand new house".
