I have hearing loss and even with that the two words sound very different.  If you are hearing them the same you should maybe have your hearing checked.

To be fair, Brian thinks a kookaburra sounds like a chimp.  So it's perfectly possible that 'attic' and 'addict' sound alike to him.

To be fair, if you can process the human voice enough, I think it can sound like a kookaburra, and since the chimpanzee is either the closest or second-closest species to homo sapiens, it's not too far off.





The first couple times I heard this song, I was sure that the "Hallelujah" that forms the hook of the song didn't come from a human. Eventually, I found the actual sample, and it turned out to be a heavily effected sample from a gospel song (relevant "Hallelujah" at 5:03):

This doesn’t justify mistaking the sounds of turtle sex with the sounds of cannon fire.

Yeesh...Chimps and birds and turtles mating and cannons...maybe I should call 911...this could be a severe side effect.
