I'm always presuming things. I also don't think before I speak.

Kalaam Cosmological Argument - Another theory added to my glossary, thanks.

Something HAD to have created it. I can't fathom anything else. And I know, just because I can't fathom doesn't mean it's not possible..

Also, earlier you said that you stopped believing in God and you didn't choose to become an atheist. But you took it one step further and joined an atheist forum, why is that?

When we're dead you'll find out.

Dead is dead.

Your days of discovery are over.

Anything you have heard to the contrary is just wishful thinking.

As for the psychology thing...why is it that when someone who is suffering from some sort of mental illness decides to murder their children do they swear it was at God's urging?  Does God create mental illness so that he has people he can commit atrocities through?

It's starting to sound as though you are going to go with a faith-based form of psychology.
Do YOU think there's a possibility you are wrong?
Ever heard of Satan?

I was looking forward to social psychology.

Bwahahahahahahaha!

I'm done here.

Wash, rinse in holy water, repeat.

  Hello again! Smile

Actually, no. Why might something 'HAD' to have created it?

The current ideas are that those who's profession it is to study such things simply 'Know' about how reality as back to a certain point.

Anything beyond that? Our knowledge of reality simply doesn't, currently, work/be effective.

Hence why people continue to think and experiment etc to try and further our knowledge and understanding.

Also, as has been shown by the late Stephen hawking, particles can literally become 'real' when before there were none. Smile

Cheers.

Not at work.

God is no Heavenly Father but a Munchhausen Mother.  He put the snake in the garden knowing full well what would happen.  He likes the attention and wants to be viewed as a savior when He is the source of all sickness.

You know, "thou shalt not kill" and "love thy neighbour"

What do you disagree with?

Don't tell the only reason you are not killing people is because Bible forbids it. I mean Bible also forbids homosexuality, so is the only reason keeping you to jump naked on some guy because Bible forbids it or is there something else beside the Bible?

I'm female so.. I don't understand your homosexuality example.
I don't kill people because it's not in my character to do so and i would gain nothing from it. But if I'm ever in the position to kill somebody (self defence), I won't.
You don't decide not to kill somebody because the constitution says so do you?

Where does the Constitution say you can’t kill people?

He said it Himself. He IS a selfish god.
He created the snake, yes. I don't know why but I can only guess. I can't pretend to know. But as they say, He has a plan.

RE murder - there's this thing called "the law" which is a major deterrent for many - 35 years in prison etc. Also empathy, for victims, their families etc, as has previously been mentioned in this thread. Also wishing to maintain self esteem through not being a murderer. Other atheistic reasons too no doubt, as if those already mentioned weren't enough. No need for afterlife incentives whatsoever.

I don't know, where do you live?

Whatever document or law that forbids homicide and then allows the state to prosecute when it's committed and sends somebody to jail...If such a document (or law) exists where you're from, do you not kill people because you're obeying it or for other reasons. (like just being a decent human being)

If we met in person, and I handed you a piece of paper which said "the man standing in front of you is the one true God" would you believe it and hold me to be the one true God? What's the difference between that piece of paper and the bible? They're both just written words so....
