John Saxon, the legend

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

I saw only a few of his movies, but I saw him a lot on TV during the 1960's and early 1970's. My mom will probably be saddened by his death because he was one of her favorite actors.

Olivia de Havilland, a top box-office name of the 1930s and 40s and the sole surviving principal cast member of the most popular movie of all time, Gone With the Wind, has died. She was 104.

Onetime presidential candidate Herman Cain has died of COVID, and this time, while "Tragic" is a term that's often thrown around when it comes to death, in this case, I think this is legitimately tragic, because he put far too much faith in Trump, to the point where when Trump held a rally in Tulsa, he went around, disregarding social distancing protocols and refusing to wear a mask. He also went to other places, including Arizona, one of those places that have never gotten out of the first wave of COVID, and while I can't find photos of what he did there, I can only assume his hubris continued unabated. Nine days later, hubris met nemesis and he was diagnosed with COVID. A few days after this, he was hospitalised, and before you expect this Perpieteia to be accompanied with Anagnorisis, that very day, he tweeted about a Trump rally in South Dakota, saying " "Masks will not be mandatory for the event, which will be attended by President Trump. PEOPLE ARE FED UP!" And, looking at his Twitter feed, it looks like he didn't budge an inch until he died.

You know, that's a real shame. By the same token, I'd pay good money for someone wearing a steel gauntlet to slap that fucking smirk off of the loofa-faced shit-gibbon's face.  Dodgy
