Yeah, sure.  Tell us about the tyranny of shorts and underwear next.
Yeah should be allowed to walk around completely nude, And if i'm not allowed it's tyranny . The only difference me walking around likely won't infect people with a highly infectious disease

If I can't spread an infectious disease, then dammit I'm just not free!
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Fuck that.

Both her and Trump need to sit down, shut up - let the legislature make the laws and then sign them - unless they really think something is a horrible idea. If they are wrong - the legislature can override the veto.....
See people, thats the problem with OLB.

He is not a hidden trumpist as many of you suggested. His particular delusion is that all politicians are the same, all.*

Not that he is less ignorant than any christian, or anyone who still supports someone like Trump. Its just that he lives a different delusion, based on a completely unwarranted, unevidenced position too.

I havent witnessed a single political discussion in which he didnt paint all politicians with the same ultra broad brush. Its his go to and be all end all argument.  I dont know how any why he made himself believe this BS. Thats something between him and his inner self. How someone is able to climb down such a rabbit hole so deep.....its beyond me, but it seems that this is the way for him to cope with a political world that is so complex and twisted. Its another simple solution to a complex problem: They are all the same.period.

I wasn’t speaking to her motivations - I think she did the right thing. Unfortunately, the right thing is not always the legal thing.

Boru

In February 1962 a big winter storm was pushing the cold and icy waters of the North Sea into towards the german coast, particularly the mouth of the Elbe river, exactly where Germanys second most populous city resides: Hamburg.

As the dykes began to break, the Mayor was just on a trip to Poland (afaik) and not availiable. Then minister of internal affairs (Hamburg is a city state) Helmut Schmidt didnt hesitate for a second and violated the constitution of the young state of Western Germany: Military troops are not to be used for resolving domestic affairs. At least he thought so. He didnt know that some troops already were alarmed, but that is irrelevant your statement (any mine).
He took over command (and authority he legally didnt have), called the german army and NATO (british and american) for support, to send in (more) troops. This probably saved thousands of lives.

He later explained that he just wanted to help his hometown, and didnt bother to look up the constitution and his legal powers.

Fortunately there are people who realize that doing the illegal thing is sometimes the right thing.

Do I think all politicians are corrupt?

No.

But it sure saves time operating under the pretense.

Anyone who wants to be in charge does so for the reason that they want to control other people.

I simply don't trust that kind of person.

You may do so at your own peril.

Or they want to be in charge because legitimately think they can help people in a leadership role

The problem with that it's way too easy for bosses to disparage leaders ability to lead, while at the same time for it being difficult to distinguish bosses from leaders. In any case, it's better to be self-reliant, independent and work in voluntary cooperation, IMO.
