Lost track of time and suddenly the cats are hanging around.

Must be dinner time.

I have one who will rarely eat from the dry food bowl unless I top it up (even if full), or rattle the contents around a little.

I guess because we never introduced her wet food when she was a kitten, she doesn't eat anything except dry food.

Sounds a lot like my cat.  He will follow me around the house yowling at me till I either add food to his bowl or, as I call it, fluff it up so he can't see the bottom of the bowl.  He's a Siamese and very vocal.

Husband has him to where he lines up for treats along with the dogs and bitches till he gets his fair share.   Maybe the cat has the husband trained....hmmm.
