In addition to being an outstanding ball player, he had the kind of quiet courage I’ve always admired.

Hank is one of those names, even if you are not a fan of the sport, that has such an impact non fans remember. I never got into baseball, but that was a name, and a decent human being, whom had an impact, not just on the sport, but on humanity.

To me, Hank had an impact on baseball, like Art Monk and Doug Williams and Warren Moon had on the NFL. Most currently Patrick Mahomes, certainly to become a future Hall of Famer.

The sad thing, is that although he set a path, and proved everyone wrong, and broke Babe Ruth's record, we are still dealing with an orange dick's wake of hate and fear.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

You have to ruin every post with mentioning Trump.   Couldn't you just say the nice things about Hank and leave it at that?  This is the Rest In Peace thread, not the Brian's on a rant thread...those are everywhere else.

Gunnel Lindblom, always a sad day when actors known for starring in Bergman's movies die. She was in all of the classics like 7th seal, Scenes from a marriage, Virgin Spring, Winter light, Wild Strawberries...

At least it helped turn me on to my favorite musical:

Though, to be fair, Sweeney Todd may or may not have been demoted to #2, depending on whether or not this counts as its own thing:

Gosh, I hadn't thought about her in years...maybe I thought she was already gone.
