The people being shot at were armed - and returned fire. The red car crashes. Shooters die. Good.. So - score one point for being armed. Had they not returned fire it is not hard to imagine more people on the street being killed. It's always easier to fire into an unarmed crowd. That's what cowards do.
Update on the California road rage shooting that left a toddler dead, they made two arrests in that case.
Two more mass shootings in the past 24 hours.
In Austin Tx. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/lea...g-n1270572 And another in Savana GA, https://www.wjcl.com/article/one-shot-de...t/36704185
Gunman shoots baby then grandmother
cnn.com Quote:The gunman who opened fire in a Florida grocery store Thursday first fired one shot that killed a 1-year-old boy before struggling with the boy's 69-year-old grandmother and then fatally shooting her, authorities said. While important, it does not address the flooded market and ease of access that allowed this disturbed person to shoot and murder other humans. RE: Official Mass Shooter Thread

If every American had 500 firearms but no motive to shoot anyone, very few Americans would be shot. Conversely, if every American had one gun, but they all had a motive to shoot other people, lots and lots of people would be shot. The only time people get shot without a motive is accidentally. Boru

Motive only addresses individual cases. But, when we are talking about firearm violence, be it suicide, domestic violence, accidental, gang, or mass shooting, the common connection is always ease of access to firearms in a long term context. Not sure what you mean by ‘In what context’ (and even less sure why you felt the need to shout it at me). If you remove motive from the equation, the only gun deaths would be accidental ones. Apart from that, motive applies to every single gun death, without exception. This is why motive is so vitally important to the discussion. Boru

It does not matter if a firearm death is suicide, or domestic murder, or gang violence, or mentally ill, or workplace grudge. Our epidemic of firearm violence REGARDLESS OF MOTIVE, is because we live in a flooded market, and there is not enough done at time of purchase to prevent these deaths to happen. Motive is only a short term answer. Prevention starts with the makers and distributors to give a shit about whom they sell to and where their products end up. |
