Shopping for birthday gifts. I was thinking of getting Facebook Portals for my twin sisters, but their DSL doesn't supply enough bandwidth.

Put the finishing touches on this. It's called "kumiko" for the style of wood working. Lots of little pieces assembled with a friction fit. This particular pattern is called "Asa-No-Ha", which means good health and fortune, if I got that right. 12-7/8" on each side. 266 pieces, all told. Well 270, if one counts the frame.

If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

Trying a sample of Maker's Mark bourbon. It's very reminiscent of Wild Turkey 101, but more peppery and a greater alcohol burn.

Our plague of frogs (toads actually) continues. I just found one in the bathroom. Glad I found it before the cat or one of the dogs did. Scooped it up with a TP roll and set it free outside.
That's a first for me. (July 18, 2021 at 9:12 pm)Fireball Wrote: Put the finishing touches on this. It's called "kumiko" for the style of wood working. Working wood like that takes more artistry than steel. With good equipment any steelworker can do such detailed work... With wood? I could probably do it. In several workweeks working 8 hour days...... (July 19, 2021 at 8:59 am)arewethereyet Wrote:Thanks!(July 18, 2021 at 9:12 pm)Fireball Wrote: Put the finishing touches on this. It's easy with a table saw, a couple of jigs and an extremely sharp chisel to cut the little pieces.

Yawning.

Throw quilt that I started late last week and finished this morning...pictures before and after sewing it together. I like it a lot.
