Tiny-brained people will usually rail against books like 'Heather Has Two Mommies' or 'Daddy, Papa, and Me' with the refrain, 'THESE BOOKS WILL TURN YOUR KIDS GAY!!'

These people need to start explaining why I am not a cowboy, a fireman, a kid detective, a space explorer, or a very hungry caterpillar.

Fast forward ahead a few years and I went to Chicago to help former boyfriend find a place for him to live after he graduated from college.  My Chicago tour guide and companion was Paul, who had lived there for years.  I had a great time and some first experiences in what Paul referred to as "Gay Chicago".  From bars and clubs to parks and the homes of his friends I had the best time and learned things that my rather sheltered life had kept from me.  I was propositioned by a black drag queen, which was something of a rarity for a white girl from the middle of the cornfields.

Former boyfriend would apologize repeatedly for leaving me "in Paul's world".  He was still quite uncomfortable.  There was never anything for him to apologize for.  it was 1979 and I was experiencing a different side of life as I knew it.  I have never cared and have really never understood why some people do care about another's sexuality.

I guess I was just born accepting of people for who they are.

It's good to see laws finally being put in place but it's also sad that we have to legislate treating people decently.

We don't have to legislate treating people decently.  I treat gay people just fine and always have.  My brother is gay.  He's also a strong conservative.  He's very content in his life and is a very devout Catholic who volunteers many hours a week.   He doesn't talk about his orientation just like I don't talk about mine.  He believes the whole outrage thing is manufactured by the Marxist left in order to divide the country, just as I do.

Yes yes, you have a convenient gay relative who agrees with you and everything is result of imaginary Marxists lol Dodgy

And apparently, we do have to legislate treating people decently.

My brother says he's been treated fine.  He made big money while he worked.  Now he's retired to volunteer work and gives his money away.  He's got a great life.  I know that doesn't square with the whole anger/outrage meme the left says he should be embracing.
