Freedom marches are now getting ugly in Au.
Do you guys in the US have these types of marches on a regular basis?

When I say ugly, I mean that in a relative sense ... Only throwing flares at cops, ramming a blokade of cops gridiron style and puching police horses in the head! lol.
No guns here ... We're just angry and frustrated ....not psychotic..

I see a lot of posts on Facebook about people going nuts at stores for being asked to wear a mask. There are also a lot of reports about people being attacked, verbally or physically, for wearing a mask.

Lots of nutty stuff at school board meetings over mask/no mask. I don't see a lot of organized marches. We seem to have jerks scattered around just enough to make everywhere feel a bit unsafe.

One of the reasons my daughter and I cancelled our trip that was scheduled for a week from now is that we didn't want to run across one of those nuts along the way.

Just went to the PO to send a package to my daughter in SC. There's a screen in there that rolls through various notices on shipping and other things such as "Please wear a mask and socially distance while here". Of the dozen people I saw while I was in there, two of us were wearing masks. No wonder we are deep into year two of this crap.

True story, and I hope she isn't a victim of her own stupidity. One of my regular cab drivers who didn't get vaccinated got COVID and is now at home sick. Hopefully what she got was a diluted variant. 

It is a myth that the vaccines do not work. They are not perfect, but all of them greatly reduce the risk of life threatening symptoms. I got the news yesterday. She could have been infected days or even a week before. So unfortunately, she still may end up in the ER. I hope not though. 

I also have a biological sister and biological mother whom also refuse the vaccine. 

I am getting tired of seeing story after story of people whom hesitated or refused only to end up in the ER or dead saying they regretted not getting it.

I really, truly, sincerely hope your cabbie dies. Since she was either too stupid or too selfish to take 20 minutes to go get a shot, she deserves to snuff it for being a deliberate danger to other people.

There's not a diuted variant. Having the shots means a stronger immune reaction to COVID.

Wow. Other's stupidity doesn't mean those who see it need to lack compassion. 

If you had been a character on MASH you would have been Frank, or Col Flag.

My best friend from Oklahoma's dad voted for Trump, but got the vaccine. But his mother and sister also refuse. While he would say, "It is their own fault" and I agree it would be their fault, it doesn't mean I wish death on them. Just like he'd say to me about my smoking, "That can kill you" he'd be right, but he wouldn't wish me death. 

I blame the politicians and right wing conspiracy nuts convincing them. I blame Trump and Fox Noise for why they buy that shit.

Yeah, don’t care. My compassion is reserved for those people who, through no fault of their own, have a rough go of it. I have no compassion for fuckwits who think they have a right to risk the health and safety of other people.

Blame whoever you like, but it’s ultimately your cabbie’s fault that she got sick. It’s also her fault that all those people she breathed on who got sick might die.
