Would you be willing to entertain the idea that precisely the same behaviour can be good or bad, depending on different causes, motivations, and intentions? Not accept it, but simply consider it as a talking point?

Look at it on a different scale, as a hypothetical:

Situation A: You see a man sexually abusing a toddler. You bash him in the head with a brick to make him stop.

Situation B: You see a man with a REALLY cool jacket. You bash him in the head with a brick so you can take it.

In both situations, the behaviours taken by you are identical - bashing a man in the head with a brick. Only the intentions are different - stopping the rape of a child and stealing a jacket that you really want.

Are both behaviours bad?
