@Helios

Would you like a research paper to go along with that statement?
https://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?...id=2629445

Quote:LGBTs report childhood sexual abuse at 3x-8x the rate of heterosexuals. LGBTs have similar order of magnitude higher rates of substance abuse, suicide, mental illness and obesity (among lesbians). The failure to consider this possible causal relationship has lead to a widespread assumption that homosexuality is an inborn and immutable characteristic. Failure to consider this possible origin has also led critics of homosexuality to assume that homosexuality as a preference is a conscious choice.

How about this?
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/11501300/

Quote:In research with 942 nonclinical adult participants, gay men and lesbian women reported a significantly higher rate of childhood molestation than did heterosexual men and women. Forty-six percent of the homosexual men in contrast to 7% of the heterosexual men reported homosexual molestation. Twenty-two percent of lesbian women in contrast to 1% of heterosexual women reported homosexual molestation. This research is apparently the first survey that has reported substantial homosexual molestation of girls. Suggestions for future research were offered.

Same all those people have links to anti-gay or pro-conservative religious groups. I've seen homophobes trot these studies out.

Yup which means nothing

Oh, and correlation is not causation even if homosexual individuals were more likely to have been abused that in no way proves the abuse made them homosexuals.

This is an illogical conclusion

You do realize that calling anything at all a "disorder" is a value judgment.  It is to declare something as an impairment, outside of human norms, and possibly treatable by the profession.

Homosexuality is none of these things.  Homosexuality provides no impairment to functioning in society, is a common aspect of the animal kingdom, and is not something that can or should be "fixed".

An overwhelmingly common factor in homosexuality is sexual abuse. I noticed you guys switched the subject from Trans to homosexuality. Stay on topic please.

I’m still waiting for you to tell me what you’ve learned from your literature review of the subject. It’s been like, four days now.
