Wash your hands or do not wash your hands when you eat

Washing your hands is like getting the Covid vaccine you lose nothing by doing it and you might be saving yourself from a serious illness.

Since this is directed at Airhead I feel like you wasted your time. He's not going to read or heed it. The rest of us most likely know that hand washing is a good thing for personal hygiene.

Nice PSA though.

Actually some of us are in contact outside of the forum. There are several in my orbit, I don't use their real names here because they don't. OLB happens to be one that I do have contact with outside the confines of AF.org.

OLB's name is not really "Debbie" though. I thought the tone of things was slightly different when I first noticed them doing this.

It really doesn't matter if they read it or not. Those who do read it will be informed if they were not already. That on its own is a good thing Great

Does nobody realise the difference between viruses and bacteria?

Excuse my edginess. I do wash my hands at work, but never at home.
Then you are gross

In a biological sense, not really.  I'm aware viruses are smaller to the extent that they can live inside bacteria. I'm aware that viruses are immune to antibiotics. That's why doctors do not prescribe antibiotic for the flu.

It's my understanding that viruses  mutate into different forms.  That viruses which infect humans have different levels of contagion. EG that the Spanish flu at the beginning of the twentieth century was not highly contagious, but  had a very high mortality rate. Conversely, Covid19 is highly contagious but mercifully has relatively low level or morality. I's my understanding that if Covid19 were highly contagious, with a high mortality rate, the number of deaths would be of biblical proportions.

But overall, no I don't really much at all. I trust our scientists and doctors and do what they say about being vaccinated and taking steps to reduce my chances of infection.

I'm over 70 and in poor health. It's my understanding that if I contract Covid19, I have a 2% chance of dying, but I'm not sure that's right. I suspect the risk may be much higher. Here Covid19 has been going through aged care facilities like a dose of salts, with a high mortality rate.

To avoid contagion, I tend to stay home. I've lived alone for many years, so this is not a a hardship for me. Of course this is as long as I have my computers,  Netflix and my painting to fill my time.

A Bacteria is a single-celled lifeform that can self replicate while a Virus is just a chunk of RNA or DNA that has to hijack a hosts cells to replicate

Really? You could have looked that up but you couldn't be bothered? Even though it affects your own health?

It's my understanding that viruses  mutate into different forms.[/QUOTE]Bacteria mutate in insane ways too. How do you not know that?

Bacteria are highly contagios and cause plenty of sickness and death. Conversely, Covid19 is highly contagious but mercifully has relatively low level or morality if vaccines are used.

Yay. God just kills people. Because he was busy taking them up to heaven or something.

Good for you. I am all vaxxed up. Anyone who is not is, in my view is idiotic.

Yet somehow nowhere else. Funny that.

As an essential worker, I have been out and about the whole time. Take the precautions and it is not a problem.

I live alone. But I still enjoy the company of others.
