That Gay Thread
RE: That Gay Thread
Okay, for what it's worth, he has a point that expecting the parents to totally adjust to the newfound gender identity immediately is a bit unrealistic. This doesn't mean they shouldn't try and accept their new son's identity.

Agreed they didn't even try. Also how does this one incident prove anything?

I have met many human type persons from many different lands in my travels, outside of the accent and the loss of culture, humans are the same, no matter where they are from. You are either cool, or your not. Nothing else matters.

IMO no one  is obliged to accept the new identity.  They are obliged to obey the law.  We are not here to meet the expectations of others. Except of course if promises are made. Then I think there is a moral obligation.

That would probably depend on whether or not they’re obligated to not alienate themselves from the person in question. Or to do to someone from a demographic that’s very prone to suicide the exact sort of thing that makes them more likely to off themselves.

Why is it so hard to address people by the pronouns they want to be addressed by. You don't even have to like them to do that. If a female friend of mine came along and told me one day that she was a he I'd be like, "Cool. Now we can do guy stuff." And if a guy came along and said he was a she I'd be like, "Cool. Now you get to wear all them fancy dresses and slick high heels. If you want."
