Do you mean that you lose yourself in the process of painting something? I've been in that zone with programming some electromagnetic code.

Well, I recently learned (indirectly) about a concept in art called 'stake of the beholder' (ie that, at least some art, relies a lot on the perceptual abilities/tendencies of the beholder to make it whole), so depending on what sort of art you make, perhaps it's not as big a debt... as big a bite... as you think it is
