Everyone feels good about moralistic hedonism, that's why it's called hedonism. But not everyone adheres to that philosophy? Strange......for something that makes complete and total sense, you would thnk everyone would be doing it.

Thousands have seen him alive, so he must be alive, right?
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

There was one in Kalamazoo Michigan (circa mid 90') - he was spotted in a laundromat.....It made national news.
I can see why.
I knew the guy. He was our UPS driver and was a ringer for Elvis. He had Presley' s voice down pat. He also had a warped sense of humor.
When it hit the news I asked if he did his laundry there. He did.
As he was leaving the laundromat he went up to this woman he had noticed staring at him - and in his best Elvis voice said " Honey - Ahhd sure appreceate if you didn' t go on tellin' anybody about anything....."
I guess sightings are good if you' re an impersonator....

IDK. People do tend to do what they want. There's a pretty solid case to be made that we all refer to moral hedonism intuitively. It's also present as either subtext or a modifying factor in many of the worlds major religions. It's the explicit moral and religious code of a large portion of neopagans. It's all over our laws.
The general gripe with moral hedonism isn't that there isn't enough of it in the world - but too much.

How about instead of Fascism, which is yucky, we could have Fashism instead? An ideology centered around fashion? Yeah......everyone would be encouraged to be fabulous as heck, and everyone would be rich, but the richest people would be those who come up with new fashion ideas. And everyone would have a little cat or dog that protects them, like a spirit animal.
I got this idea from a mural on the side of a shopping mall where I live. The mural depicted three happy women in an eccentric pose, and they were haughtily dressed and holding shopping bags. The mural said "Material Girls", I don't know if that's the name of a shop or if it's just a phrase.
I think society could use a rest from its usual mechanistic order. The "fashion world" (literally) would be colorful and chaotic, and people would be happier, I think.

Something strange seems to be going on with the internet - seems like everyone is yammering on about something called 'The Superb Owl'. I mean, sure, owls are kinda cool, but what makes this one 'superb'?

Is it a coincidence that Valentines Day and Venereal Disease have the same initials?
