She has nothing to say that I’m remotely interested in hearing.

It would be awesome if we could ignore politicians like her, if we didn't have the current crop of fascist Trumpists in congress. There was a time when voices like hers would never get nominated, much less hold office. I agree she has nothing of any value to say, but she unfortunately holds power and that is what makes her dangerous. So to be able to hear a court make the effort to hold her to account, is worth the listen.

You admittedly have a larger stake in what she has to say than I do. She has no power over me, so I can afford to ignore her verbal bile.

It seems Musk will be buying Twitter after all.

I expect it to turn into a cesspit that no-one will want to use. To maximize usage, algorithms pander to maximum trolling and outrage.

Musk has also decided that Democrats aren't his friends any more, and is betting on the Republicans to be more friendly to his businesses. Owning Twitter and making it right-wing friendly can help ingratiate himself with this group.

Elon can get things done, and he is smart. He is also self-centered and delusional. Starship will suddenly make us a multi-planetary species? Delusional. Tesla will save the planet from global warming? Delusional. A free-speech Twitter will save democracy? Delusional.

But at least he can afford to buy a round of drinks....

At least people will get off the social networks and instead of wasting their time do something useful.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Elon is a dumb smart person. Excellence or even genius in certain areas of endeavor don't mean the person is above average in others.

Elon is smart except when he is dumb, when he is a racist
