Need I remind you that the original little mermaid (152 years before the Disney film was released) ended up dissolving into sea foam? So if you’re going to raise a stink about not being faithful to the original, why not focus on something that actually has a material impact on the story?

Honestly, if there’s any Disney-owned variation on a public domain character people should be annoyed isn’t a readhead, it should probably have been Thor. Admittedly, being a redhead (and with a full beard) wouldn’t have changed anything, plot wise in the MCU, but anything that manages to A) distance Norse mythology from the racist dickheads who’ve come to latch onto it, and B) still be true to the original lore, would be a huge plus. At least making Heimdall black accomplished the first part.
