Nothing brightens a Sunday morning like a blaring fire alarm while you're trying to clean up broken glass amidst a mess of electrical cables. Yay.
I'm going to aim for getting my apartment furniture rearranged for a new TV by a week from Monday. So, I need to get some of it done today. I've still got measuring and planning to do.

Just got back from voting. Making a quick lunch, then I think I will do not much of anything the rest of the day.

After a couple months of use (pretty intensive), every laptop I've ever used gets bloated. It can easily take 20 minutes for it to go from start up to "Firefox is actually usable." Dad thinks he might actually get it to run normally, but after several attempts, I can safely say that nothing ever works. And even if I get another laptop, I can predict with all the certainty of the sun going up in the east in the morning and going down in the west at night, that it's going to get bloated within a year anyway. Dad's insisting that I allow him to roll the rock up the mountain one more time. When I finish my dinner, I'll let him do it.

Dad has tried to roll the boulder up the mountain and the only thing that seems to have changed is that Windows now seems to have defaulted to a pixilated looking font when I’m looking stuff up on Google.,
Edit: we had to resort to a restore point. It’s still initializing.

Remember when Windows was a purchased product, and you took it out the door of the store and installed it on your computer? Now, it's a "service". If I wasn't so old and decrepit, I'd go to a Linux system and eschew Windows entirely. Bunch of crooks.

Thinking back...13 years ago at this time I was on my way to the surgical center for my mastectomies. After a stop at the hospital for the surgeon to implant a marker, I was on my way to experience the most painful thing I have ever been through. I remember starting to wake up and my teeth were chattering from the pain. I tried to breathe through it and asked for something for pain only to be told the surgeon 'doesn't believe' in pain meds. After a couple hours, I finally told the nurse I had read their mission statement which included pain control. Also, said I would skip over the oncologist and call my plastic surgeon which she begged me not to do. Minutes later my husband found her on the phone with the plastic surgeon. Within a few more minutes I was administered pain meds. Was sent home the next morning. Talk about drive thru surgery!
Anywho...still here...scars and all...but still here.

Falling asleep at the keyboard while rain patters on the windowsill.
