The American Civil Liberties Union has never been liberal in their entire history? That's news to me. At least Canada's version of the ACLU still has a ballsack left and is speaking out against the Emergencies Act and Doug Ford's equally bad anti-civil liberties laws.

Is there no third option? I'm not allowed to aspire for something better than those two awful choices for a society? I do not want to become more like Nazi Germany, but I also really, really don't want society becoming more like China with their social credit scores and censoring of speech.

You don't believe they are sub-human in the same way supremacists think blacks are. You may really dislike them because they think really bad things, but you don't literally think they are sub-human, because they weren't born with racist beliefs, and they are also capable of change.
