lol!! I like Fahrenheit because it is a better descriptor of how hot the day is. Celsius never describes hot. Cold, yes.
I work with someone who lives in London, and she always says ''straight away,'' whereas Americans typically say ''right away.'' Either thing actually doesn't make sense when you process it...how did these options become the descriptors for ''quickly?''
Nonetheless, I've switched, and now say ''straight away.''
I just prefer zero representing freezing... that makes the most logical sense to me... but that said, I admit our measurement systems of choice aren't always about logic; if they were I'd be a bigger fan of km's and kg's etc rather than miles, stones, and pounds. So I think it's just what you grow up with really... or what you're familiar with (either individually or as a culture), and the rest is just rationalisation after the fact.
As for straight away vs right away, looking at it I'm not sure which of those I say, if either....probably the former, really not sure though.

Husband was going over insurance coverage at work and found out that certain things will get him a rebate from the company. Such as he and I having physicals each year. However, we can't get the rebate for an annual mammogram for me because I have no mammos to gram. Seems we should get a pass on that requirement.

It was a stormy day here, today...and I loved it. I love the rain. It's mysterious and always like an excuse to light a bunch of candles all over the house.

LOL - 0 is damn cold. 32 is freezing and if your temperature is over 98.6, you might be sick.
Everything else is relative to those.

Someone needs to make an "Encyclopedia of famous dogs" that tracks famous dogs through history that achieved something for which they are known.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Great idea, let’s make it happen. I’ll start.
In 456 BCE, Persians attacked Corinth. In order to keep the element of surprise, they killed 49 of the city’s 50 patrol dogs. A dog called Soter escaped and warned the Corinthians, who were able to fight off the Persian attack. The grateful citizens erected a statue and awarded the dog a silver collar.
(‘Soter’ was probably either an honorific or the name given to the dog after the event, as it is also the personification of ‘deliverance from harm’ in Greek mythology.)

Think of Clockwork Orange, weird punks dress up weird and beats people up. So its the only superhero movie in that genre of a movie where i actually applaud one movie of actually making sense interms of believable realism of why this would work.
