This is actually kinda scary.  For a state this homophobic, this transphobic, for them to start gathering info on transgender people and the trans-hate is so strong within the republican party, this could go really bad really fast.

Paywall.

No paywall here, but the source is more biased:

GOP Texas Attorney General's office allegedly demanded a list of trans people in the state

That being said, I did a quick search for Ken Paxton and found several other news sources that are saying the same thing.  Which is why I wanted to start with a more reliable, less partisan source like the Washington Post.

You know, personally, I'm not normally the sort of person who gives a shit whether or not a creator has shitty opinions or done worse. Hell, one of my favourite films was written and directed by a man who has OPENLY ADMITTING to raping a 13-year-old girl. I believe that an artwork should be judged on its own merits, not the worst sins of whoever's prominently connected to it. That said, when JoJo decides to create a whole new career talking shit about trans folk AND has even said that as long as the royalty checks keep rolling in, she doesn't care how many people she's alienated, talking about boycotting a Harry Potter MMORPG (especially when she's one of the groups JoJo's shitting upon) becomes pretty understandable.

Men's prison is slammed by inspectors for not providing make-up and women's clothing to its transgender inmates

HMP Northumberland was criticised for 'not prioritising equality and diversity'

An inspector took issue with failure to provide makeup to transgender inmates

'It's difficult for prisoners to obtain makeup and women's clothing,' report said

The prison in Morpeth, which caters for 1,348 inmates, now has an action plan

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

I wonder if the transgender inmates have fewer behavior problems? Sociologists study everything social, and, so, this is a curiosity of mine.

It’s a bit strange that the trans prisoners expect to be provided makeup. Especially when even cis women get barely any access to cosmetics. At best, it’s a limited supply and assortment from the commissary that might not actually be readily available.

I understand trans folk wanting their rights, but maybe it’d be better for optics to focus on the rights their cis counterparts have that they don’t. There’s always going to be some idiots who see marginalized groups fighting for human rights and think they’re asking got special treatment, I know, but it’d probably be best to make those types right as little as humanly possible.

What little research I’ve seen suggests that LGBTQ people in general seem to be more likely to be victimized than victimizers in prison. Full disclosure, a lot of that research was from watching Oz with some Orange is the New Black.

That would be my supposition, also.  If an inmate is concerned with their makeup, nails and hair, they are not likely to be picking fights.  Likewise, if they are choosing a skirt to pants on any given day, they are probably not dressing for a fight, either, unless they are also a Samurai warrior.  (And, I fully expect to be corrected on this comparison, as Samurai warriors do not, typically, wear skirts.)

And you know what really annoys me? People who say "TERF" is a slur. That's like saying "Racist" or "Homophobe" or "Bigot" is a slur. It's absurd.

The ironic part is that they were the ones who created the term TERF.  Then the TERFs were such jerks that the term itself became an insult because being associated with their behavior was bad.

I wish that my boobs were bigger.
