One of the very few times I worked for someone else, I was told, ‘So-and-so is your superior.’ I said, ‘No, he’s my boss.’
Turned out to be a highly efficient way to end my employment.

Watching Wall-E for the first time in donkeys, I find myself wondering: how bloody long do Luxo Jr.'s lightbulbs last?
Do we count the 22 years between the release of the original short and Wall-E or do we add the intervening 700 years when it actually takes place?
Does the fact that it looks like Wall-E changed out the original incandescent bulb with a CFL change things?

I’m starting a church.
Quote:Scientists say they have documented the first virgin birth in a crocodile.
The crocodile in question, named Coquita, had been living alone in a Costa Rican zoo called Parque Reptilandia for 16 years before laying a very special clutch of eggs in 2018. One of those eggs was later found to contain a fully formed crocodile fetus, despite the fact that Coquita had lived virtually her entire life in isolation. There was almost no chance she had consorted with male crocodiles.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Didn't Jurassic Park already inform us this was a possibility with reptiles?

From what I remember of JP, they alluded that some dinosaurs changed their gender because their DNA was "repaired" with frog's DNA, and since some frogs can change their gender so did some dinos.

Would you guys agree that a person is born either more religious or more atheistic?

Everyone is born completely atheistic. Religious belief is learned, not innate.

If that were true, only people who have never been exposed to religion would be atheists.

It’s exposure to religion that creates religious people. It’s exposure to reason that cures them of this malady.
If people had innate religious beliefs, all religions would be similar, if not identical. The chief factor determining religious belief is geography.
