Illinois is my home stat too. Sadly my adopted state of SC (since 1990) is less enlightened, hundreds of books have been banned here.

It’s early days yet, but Judge Cannon is giving a glimmer of expectation of a speedy trial in the documents case. She has given all current and prospective attorneys-of-record until 20 June to obtain the necessary security clearances to view the government records Trump absconded with.

I’m not sure why they need these clearances, though, since Trump declassified them just by thinking about it.

I'll be astonished if that's accomplished by 20 June. Fastest turn-around I've ever seen was 5 months, not 5 days, and that was for a guy who lived in his home town his entire life; no foreign travel, no military service. It generally takes much longer- like 9 to 12 months. And if they're attorneys for the chump, they probably have shady shit in their past. Gonna be a bucket of worms, for sure.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

That's the initial finding, right?

I misread the article. By 20 June, the lawyers concerned to file a notice that they have begun the clearance process with DOJ’s litigation clearance division. There seems to be an expedited process for a limited, interim clearance.

Not sure what you mean by ‘initial finding’. This was an order issued by the judge.

I'm asking if the trial is supposed to start then.

Maybe oil companies could fund Medicare in the US

Oil and gas health impacts cost $77 billion per year, study finds

Air pollution from U.S. oil and natural gas production causes roughly $77 billion in health impacts nationwide every year, while also contributing to thousands of early deaths and health flare-ups, a new study finds.

Why it matters: It puts a price tag on one of the human costs of domestic oil and gas activity.

What they found: The pollutants nitrogen oxide, fine particulate matter and ozone from U.S. oil and gas production contributed to 7,500 excess deaths, 410,000 asthma attacks, and 2,200 new cases of childhood asthma across the U.S. in 2016, per the study published Monday in the journal Environmental Research: Health.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
