If everything has a purpose then evil doesn't exist

I could argue either side of the debate with equal vigor. As this story in the Bible does not have to play out as I perceive it in order for me to maintain my beliefs. In fact that is the reason I had answers for most of the questions asked. Is Because I question everything myself and try and find all the fatal flaws in everything. That's what I mean from the outside looking in, it may 'seem.' As the general appearance looks like I am invested in something I am really not. I can do this because I am ok with not knowing for sure. If things work out the way I described great! if not that's ok too. as the Ark could have literally been a space ship fleeing from another planet or it dosent even have to be a boat at all. It could have been a series of caves that Noah (which could have been one man and his family or a whole civilization known as the noahans.) Again, none of this truly matters to me. It matter to you guys in that it could be what the Bible says. Which is where my interest lies. In demonstrating to you that it is logistically plausible. that as fantsiful as this may seem, that it is still plausible.

lol, does it really matter if someone accuses God of something or not? If you are strong enough you just tell your accuser to go pound sand.

why would God care what someone He did not like thought of Him?

I was asked if I went to church as a child. I did not, and my father's life style was the reason why he did not go, and if he didn't have to go I wasn't going to go either..

For me growing up we did not know any better.
It wasn't a good thing or a bad thing. it just was.. We found out later in life and we were angry for a while but ultimately This effected my mother more than us, and she chose to forgive him and stay. She saw how auntie side piece help and supported my dad in a traditional white, English speaking, culturally adept way, and she was ok with that as she did not want to do all of the social functions anyway. Plus in her culture the husband generally has a wife and a concubine. where the wife is head of the house hold and the concubine "concubined"

I tried to explain this to my wife but she wasn't having it..
In the moral view you've shared with us here, you still can't know any better, because there isn't any better.  Isn't that interesting?

Sounds like dad was living a perfectly biblical lifestyle.  What's the problem, right?

he did have the tendency to go Old Testament on our asses from time to time.

Clearly, you can't argue anything with any vigor.  Is this you telling us, again, that you actually don't care whether any of the shit you say about the big boat is true?

Goddamn son, now you're blaming god and saying that your ridiculous beliefs are his responsibility?

He might care that the supposed faithful are lying through their teeth and talking shit about him.  I believe there's even a biblical term for that and it's Very Not Good. Worse, you bear false witness for no particular reason, and without care for whether or not it's true... according to you.

A simpleton before the heathens, a blasphemous sinner before god. I'm not seeing the upside.

So from about grade 6 forward my beliefs about god and the world matched my dad's world view. Which meant I could justify anything I wanted to do so long as it didn't hurt no one. Just like he did. Which is probably why I spent the next 10 years of Sundays doing whatever he did.

yes my father knew enough bible to use it to justify whatever he did, and I picked this up as well.

I don't need to go to church at all. I can literally do whatever I want. But the point of worship is not about you/me. It's about bringing glory to god. which is just easier in a Jesus Christ centered church.

I go to church to help those who go to the church who are in need. again going to church is not about what I get out of it it is about giving to others.

OK, but, then why are you here? Why do you need to argue with atheists and want validation for your belief(s)? You are certainly not giving to us (atheists) and we are certainly not in need. Kind of against what you profess to be.

I suggest that you let us be us and you be you and move on.

to make friends and to have fun talking about religious things.

I can do that if that is what most of you guys want. I am on reddit as well so you can always find me there.

maybe that I why I contend that ALL forms of morality are in fact relative.
