Quote:"But Neanderthals weren’t the slow-witted louts we’ve imagined them to be — not just a bunch of Neanderthals. As a review of findings published last year put it, they were actually “very similar” to their contemporary Homo sapiens in Africa, in terms of “standard markers of modern cognitive and behavioral capacities.” We’ve always classified Neanderthals, technically, as human — part of the genus Homo. But it turns out they also did the stuff that, you know, makes us human.
Neanderthals buried their dead. They made jewelry and specialized tools. They made ocher and other pigments, perhaps to paint their faces or bodies — evidence of a “symbolically mediated worldview,” as archaeologists call it. Their tracheal anatomy suggests that they were capable of language and probably had high-pitched, raspy voices, like Julia Child. They manufactured glue from birch bark, which required heating the bark to at least 644 degrees Fahrenheit — a feat scientists find difficult to duplicate without a ceramic container. In Gibraltar, there’s evidence that Neanderthals extracted the feathers of certain birds — only dark feathers — possibly for aesthetic or ceremonial purposes. And while Neanderthals were once presumed to be crude scavengers, we now know they exploited the different terrains on which they lived. They took down dangerous game, including an extinct species of rhinoceros. Some ate seals and other marine mammals. Some ate shellfish. Some ate chamomile. (They had regional cuisines.) They used toothpicks."

Yes and ?
The fact another branch of hominids could be intelligent and human-like doesn't mean they were human.

Quote:uote: Wrote:"For a time in the 1960s and '70s, Ramapithecus was thought to be a distinct genus that was the first direct ancestor of modern humans (Homo sapiens) before it became regarded as that of the orangutan ancestor Sivapithecus.
Simons’s theory was strongly supported by his student English-born American anthropologist David Pilbeam and soon gained wide acceptance among anthropologists. The age of the fossils (about 14 million years) fit well with the then-prevailing notion that the ape-human split had occurred at least 15 million years ago. The first challenge to the theory came in the late 1960s from American biochemist Allan Wilson and American anthropologist Vincent Sarich, who, at the University of California, Berkeley, had been comparing the molecular chemistry of albumins (blood proteins) among various animal species. They concluded that the ape-human divergence must have occurred much later than Ramapithecus. (It is now thought that the final split took place some 6 million to 8 million years ago.)
Wilson and Sarich’s argument was initially dismissed by anthropologists, but biochemical and fossil evidence mounted in favour of it. Finally, in 1976, Pilbeam discovered a complete Ramapithecus jaw, not far from the initial fossil find, that had a distinctive V shape and thus differed markedly from the parabolic shape of the jaws of members of the human lineage. He soon repudiated his belief in Ramapithecus as a human ancestor, and the theory was largely abandoned by the early 1980s. Ramapithecus fossils subsequently were found to resemble those of the fossil primate genus Sivapithecus, which is now regarded as ancestral to the orangutan; the belief also grew that Ramapithecus probably should be included in the Sivapithecus genus."
From: https://www.britannica.com/topic/Ramapithecus This doesn't refute my point that they are related to us as again humans are apes. Your brain can't seem to grasp this. Thus its place as a relative of us was not abandoned.

RCC has not officially accepted evolution but has rather allowed Catholics to accept it if they want. RCC has also rejected the evolution of man as the pope noted in Humani Generis.

On a subconscious level, he can not stand all that crap he has in his head that contradicts reality and he can not write apologetics for the pedophile organization known as RCC anymore. You can see that all this Catholicism has driven him insane.
This is all his cry for help.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Quote:I know Evolutionists claim Mitochondrial Eve was not the only woman, but allegedly one of multiple women whose female descendants now allegedly don't have the Mitochondrial DNA of these hypothetical missing women. They have to claim that to support their Theory. They also denied Y chromosomal Adam and Mitochondrial Eve lived together. Then the evidence became clear that they did. Evolutionists will get there, in time. See above on Ramapithecus.
So you pick and choose what you will take from your sources when it suits your idealogy

Arewethereyet, noted.
The point on Ramapithecus was that it was once regarded as an ancestor of humans but is now known to be an ancestor instead of orangutans.
Also, to others: when did this Ape-Human transition take place exactly, according to your Theory? i.e. how many 100s of 1000s or millions of years ago?
I get different answers depending on whom I ask. This site claims: "Homo sapiens age
300,000 years ago to present:
archaic Homo sapiens from 300,000 years ago
modern Homo sapiens from about 160,000 years ago" https://australian.museum/learn/science/...rn-humans/
And yet others claim Apes became humans some 6 MN years ago - such extraordinarily and vastly different ages as to render this Theory almost meaningless: it is not one single, consistent theory, but a mish-mash of a 100 odd different theories jumbled into one.
"Humans diverged from apes—specifically, the chimpanzee lineage—at some point between about 9.3 million and 6.5 million years ago, towards the end of the Miocene epoch." https://www.amnh.org/explore/news-blogs/...-evolution
Yeah, right.

Once again humans are apes and Ramapithecus is an ape thus we are still related to Ramapithecus. Apes didn't become humans as humans are apes you can't become something you already are.

Here is Wiki on Silvapethicus now: "Sivapithecus (lit. 'Shiva's Ape') (syn: Ramapithecus) is a genus of extinct apes. Fossil remains of animals now assigned to this genus, dated from 12.2 million years old[1] in the Miocene, have been found since the 19th century in the Siwalik Hills of the Indian subcontinent as well as in Kutch. Any one of the species in this genus may have been the ancestor to the modern orangutans.
Some early discoveries were given the separate names Ramapithecus (Rama's Ape) and Bramapithecus (Brahma's Ape), and were thought to be possible ancestors of humans." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sivapithecus
Yup, these were not ancestors to humans, but rather ancestors to orangutans. I pity those who insist on believing these Apes are their fathers.

Since you claim to be Catholic, and the Catholic church accepts evolution as a fact, albeit with hocus-pocus involved, who are you to question official church policy?
Or are you claiming the CC is communist, too?

Another issue: if apes like these alleged Ramapithecus, Silvapethicus etc are ultimately the progenitors of the human race, why didn't our first parents - or multiple first ancestors, if you will - tell us about these things in historical records and cave paintings and so on? Rather, virtually every civilization preserves the historical memory that humanity comes from God or gods. Some believe in gods in Heaven, and that's not correct: there's only One God. But as to the events on Earth itself, they are agreed. Humanity did not come from Apes. If we had, our first ancestors would have painted these things on caves and so on.

The Catholic Church does not accept evolution as a fact. It merely permits it to held so long as Monogenism is not denied.
"5. If anyone examines the state of affairs outside the Christian fold, he will easily discover the principle trends that not a few learned men are following. Some imprudently and indiscreetly hold that evolution, which has not been fully proved even in the domain of natural sciences, explains the origin of all things, and audaciously support the monistic and pantheistic opinion that the world is in continual evolution. Communists gladly subscribe to this opinion so that, when the souls of men have been deprived of every idea of a personal God, they may the more efficaciously defend and propagate their dialectical materialism ...
36. For these reasons the Teaching Authority of the Church does not forbid that, in conformity with the present state of human sciences and sacred theology, research and discussions, on the part of men experienced in both fields, take place with regard to the doctrine of evolution, in as far as it inquires into the origin of the human body as coming from pre-existent and living matter - for the Catholic faith obliges us to hold that souls are immediately created by God. However, this must be done in such a way that the reasons for both opinions, that is, those favorable and those unfavorable to evolution, be weighed and judged with the necessary seriousness, moderation and measure, and provided that all are prepared to submit to the judgment of the Church, to whom Christ has given the mission of interpreting authentically the Sacred Scriptures and of defending the dogmas of faith.[11] Some however, rashly transgress this liberty of discussion, when they act as if the origin of the human body from pre-existing and living matter were already completely certain and proved by the facts which have been discovered up to now and by reasoning on those facts, and as if there were nothing in the sources of divine revelation which demands the greatest moderation and caution in this question."
