The OSC, an independent investigative federal agency, said in a report sent to Biden that Del Toro violated the Hatch Act — a law prohibiting political activity while a federal employee is on duty, in the federal workplace, or acting in an official capacity — when he suggested the American people should go vote for Biden at a January event in the U.K.
[...]
He added, “we cannot afford to have a president who aligns himself with autocratic dictators and rulers whose interpretation of democratic principles is suspicious [at] best.”
“I’m confident that the American people will step up to the plate come November and support President Biden for a second term as our commander in chief,” he said.
Special counsel Hampton Dellinger said in a statement that Del Toro was “speaking in his official capacity on a taxpayer-funded trip” when he “encouraged electoral support for one candidate over another in the upcoming presidential election.”
“By doing so, he crossed a legal line and violated the Hatch Act. This is especially troubling because Secretary Del Toro has himself acknowledged that military work and partisan politics should not be mixed,” Dellinger said.

As much as I agree with the SecNav, what he did was wrong.
And yet there has not been - as far as I’m aware - a special counsel appointed to address Trump’s Arlington fiasco.

We should be skeptical.
There’s a difference between being skeptical and rejecting overwhelming evidence because it doesn’t support your biases.

Years ago when Israel was bombing Gaza, Ronald Reagan saw a photo of a little boy with both arms blown off. He called Menachem Begin on the telephone and told him it was a bad look, and he should cut it out. Begin declared a ceasefire. Granted, we know it didn't last long, but any ceasefire at all saves lives.
It's sad that our current leadership lacks the will or the power that Reagan apparently had.
If the US cut off funding for Israel everything would change.

That’s a good observation. Israel needed American goodwill more then than it does now.

That's likely. Israel seems to have reached some kind of tipping point, where they know that absolutely anything they do will be downplayed and justified by the US.
I wonder if this is the increased reach of AIPAC. Or maybe Netanyahu took advantage of the fact that Biden is senile. Whatever it is, Israel is going strong for its Final Solution, and so far the US is right behind them.

If they won't take our advice, we shouldn't offer our money and weapons, just the same as if Cousin Jethro doesn't quit his meth habit, I'm not "loaning" him another dime. We Americans should either leverage our aid to Israel, or cut it off.
This having-it-both-ways crap is long past its sell-by date.

Also Dick Cheney has just endorsed Kamala.
Perhaps she can help him find Saddam's Weapons of Mass Destruction.

LoL, yeah let the Russian asset Glenn Greenwald explain to us that Putin is really backing Harris. You are beyond desperate.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

I don't know much about Greenwald, but I'm pretty sure Trump would be a willow in the breeze regarding Putin -- as he was in his first term.
