The door being left open is strange. Autopsy and necropsy reports will matter.

Given that a film legend and his wife were found dead together, this was probably inevitable. Hackman was 95, it probably would have happened any day now. But people don't die in twos without something strange happening. Okay, maybe the "Happy Ending" mathematician couple, but normally, there's usually some effort on someone's part.

Definitely odd. At first glance, it looks like a natural death for Gene and a suicide on the part of his wife. She may have been majorly devoted to him but she was no bimbo. She was a high achiever in her own right. She had to have had some pragmatism regarding how much more time a 95-year-old had left.

There's no telling what's in another person's head.

As Thump said, post-mortem tests will probably reveal the answer.

My guess is that this was perhaps some sort of suicide pact, similar to the one Arthur Koestler and his wife ended up carrying out in 1983.

*sighs*

Watch the following movies:
  • Bonnie and Clyde
  • The French Connection
  • The Conversation
  • Unforgiven
  • The Royal Tenenbaums
But then again, this might be a bit more up your alley:

Add "The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3".

We just finished watching "The French Connection", I don't think it's his best work.

He wasn't a particularly attractive man.

I won’t, for one simple reason: he wasn’t in that movie.

No, but he was badass, which is more than enough for most straight guys. But for what it’s worth, I’d recommend The Connection partly because it’s one of those movies where I suspect that at least one character might be autistic. Admittedly, I waver between yes and no for Harry Caul (Hackman’s character), but Meredith (the girl he ends up with at the conference) definitely is.

Then again, The Birdcage might be more accessible. It’s a gay comedy that’s actually on two major streaming services (Prime Video and Max).
