So your point was?

Not mine, yours: You think light only comes from the Sun, and have wasted the last several posts chasing your tail about it.

Do you wish to retract that?

How old is it as pig iron—a year. How old is it as a vase—a day. Same as a file on a computer, you have the date it was created and the date it was last modified.

I didn’t ask how old the pig iron is (and it’s considerably more than a year old). If the vase I make today is a day old, then the planet known to the locals as ‘Earth’ doesn’t predate your creation week. Form follows function, and since the inchoate something-or-other was described as ‘without form, it wasn’t Earth.

(Sun)light ≠ Sun
Indeed, but then no one suggested they were the same, only that the SUNlight is only evidenced as aiding photosynthesis on this planet, when it comes from the sun. You know the one that wasn't created in Genesis until after the earth existed with vegetation, that required that sunlight, unless you have EVIDENCE of another source?

As hilarious as light without a source sounds it's probably the least of the crimes against reason that this bronze-age creation myth is guilty of.

Your question was pointless, on this we can I think at least tacitly agree.

Nope...I just don't share your belief it was magic'd into existence, to sustain vegetation on this planet before the sun existed, as you do...but you seem to want to obfuscate in an hilariously mendacious manner, so it appears there really is nothing new under the SUN..

What even is this argument? I'll concede only if you accept that the earth is only a day old: I changed the earth's form yesterday when I dug a hole in the garden.

You changed your form just now when you typed this message. #notevenbornyesterday

Very true, but it is still amusing to see John chase these archaic superstitious claims down a rabbit hole, and pretend he has science on his side, while denying any scientific fact that gets in the way.

I changed the earth's form yesterday when I dug a hole in the garden.
Was that when you created the hole, or did it exist a priori, and yesterday was just when you put the shovel away?
