What's everyone up to right now?
RE: What's everyone up to right now?
Someone at work told me I should watch right-wing media, fox "news" specifically, to get a different perspective.

I said that would be like the British in WW2 watching Goebbels speeches to get the Nazi point of view.

No thanks, I will not be brainwashed.

There's a 4 TB SSD at a good price right now on the second day of Amazon Prime Days. I think I'll wait until Thanksgiving before spending money on additional SSDs. Hopefully by then I'll have a clearer idea of what my needs are than I do now. Currently I only have a vague idea of how I would employ another large SSD. I need at least 2 TB, but 4 TB is more of a luxury than a need.

Still receiving both phone cases. Ended up not canceling the one order.

The first order that was delayed is "supposed" to now arrive on the thirteenth. The second order on the twenty-third.

I've been using Google Drive over the past week to make cloud backups of about 800 GB of KDrama episodes. I must say that I'm not impressed with the service. There are occasional hiccups, which are not unexpected anytime you're coordinating with an external service concerning a large amount of data. What isn't expected is how little the functions and interface lend themselves to resolving such hiccups. The client informs you that a hiccup occurred, but doesn't seem to provide the specifics, nor is there any way to determine the specifics through the client or web interface. So the only remedy it suggests is to stop and restart the service. And if that doesn't fix this unspecified problem, you're effectively hosed knowing that some part of your information isn't backed up, but not knowing which part or why.

Yeah, you lawless bunch.  Hehe I see where Noem "stared down" some representatives of "Antifa". Let's see if I can get this right- 10 members of the press, one guy with a sign, and another person in a chicken suit. I'm beat- I've been camping, and I can tell you that it takes me days to recover from that "relaxation". Tell me again how fun it is to set up a campsite gimping around on a cane.  Panic

Was rearranging my room, accidentally toppled the telly and the game console. The latter survived, but the former didn't. Had to move the living room telly into my room and now we need to purchase a new telly.

800 gig of video? Even when I was sailing the high seas regularly, that would have been an astronomical amount of video.

Part of that is the difference in resolution used these days. A TV show in 720p could run 350-700 MB in the past. Now episodes in the multiple gigabytes aren't uncommon.
