It was the clip heard around the world after Sunday night’s BAFTA ceremony in London — a man yelling a racist slur as two celebrated Black actors, Michael B. Jordan and Delroy Lindo, presented an award on stage.

The man was John Davidson, the subject of the British indie film “I Swear,” about a man with Tourette Syndrome. Davidson, who has long campaigned for awareness of the condition, told CNN before the ceremony that he was worried about the involuntary tics that mark it.

The audience had been warned before the ceremony that tics or involuntary swearing could occur, and Davidson received large applause inside the hall. After the incident, host Alan Cumming asked for “understanding” for the “strong and offensive language.” He reminded the crowd that Tourette Syndrome was a disability and tics were involuntary, and said: “We apologize if you are offended tonight.”

This is not ok. My take is that this guy gets a free pass on these events, along with the biopic about him, because the queen approved him by "half-knighting" him, and thus Brits accept his behavior. But they should stop taking the woman who protected her son the pedophile ever so seriously.

You obviously don't know anything about Tourette's.

But that's why organizers knew enough about Tourette syndrome that it was all but certain that this guy would yell a racist word at a Black person, and yet they invited him. Black people have traumas when they hear that word, and they don't deserve to be treated like this.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

You prefer black people with traumas to someone with a neurodevelopmental disorder. Lets be crystal clear about this:The person with the neurodevelopmental disorder has no control over his utterances, it cant be healed nor its root cause be treated, unlike traumas of other people.

On what grounds do you like to discriminate against people with such mental disorders?  If it wouldnt have been a vocal tic, but a motion tic, would you have asked the same, to have the person not be invited? If not, why do you like to discriminate even within the group of people with neurodevelopmental disorders?

On a sidenote: How do you think people with neurodevelopmental disorders deserve to be treated, other than being discriminated against?

Quote:The Justice Department has withheld some Epstein files related to allegations that President Trump sexually abused a minor, an NPR investigation finds. It also removed some documents from the public database where accusations against Jeffrey Epstein also mention Trump.

Some files have not been made public despite a law mandating their release. These include what appears to be more than 50 pages of FBI interviews, and notes from conversations with a woman who accused Trump of sexual abuse decades ago when she was a minor.

NPR reviewed multiple sets of unique serial numbers appearing before and after the pages in question, stamped onto documents in the Epstein files database, FBI case records, emails and discovery document logs in the latest tranche of documents published at the end of January. NPR's investigation found dozens of pages that appear to be catalogued by the Justice Department but not shared publicly.

The Justice Department declined to answer NPR's questions on the record about these specific files, what's in them, and why they are not published. After publication, the Justice Department reached out to NPR, taking issue with how its responses to questions were framed. Justice Department spokeswoman Natalie Baldassarre reiterated DOJ's stance that any documents not published are because they are privileged, duplicates or relate to an ongoing federal investigation.

During and opposite to Trump's State of The Union speech, the American classic movie network TCM aired George Cukor's 1944 film Gaslight.

I'm sure it's just a coincidence, but still.

Quote:WASHINGTON (AP) — American sympathies in the Middle East have shifted dramatically toward the Palestinians, according to new Gallup polling, after decades of overwhelming support for the Israelis.

That shift accelerated during the war in Gaza. Three years ago, 54% of Americans sympathized more with the Israelis, compared to 31% for the Palestinians.

Now, their support is about evenly balanced, with 41% saying their sympathies lie more with the Palestinians, and only 36% saying the same about the Israelis.

The numbers reflect how support for Israel has become deeply contentious in the U.S., with profound implications for American politics and foreign policy. The changing sentiment has been largely driven by Democrats, who are now much more likely to sympathize with Palestinians. U.S. assistance to Israel has been a major dividing line in the party’s primaries this year.

The United States and Israel launched an attack on Iran Saturday morning, a major escalation following weeks of negotiations between US and Iranian officials over the country’s nuclear program.

Looks like killing own citizens and committing genocide on Palestinians isn't enough to slake bloodthirst of fascists ruling above mentioned, aggressor countries.
The first revolt is against the supreme tyranny of theology, of the phantom of God. As long as we have a master in heaven, we will be slaves on earth.
