Bossman pulled me in for a one-on-one, I let him know in no uncertain terms the agreement is completely unsatisfactory and why. At his request, I've escalated to HR and my VP, but I'm holding firm to a 5/15 departure if they don't remedy the agreement.

It’s largely cosmetic, I admit, but it looks great.

Picked up my new phone tonight. Despite the hefty discount, it appears in mint condition. And it's got 90-day returns in case there's an issue. It's a significant upgrade.

The work situation has concluded itself, they refused to alter the covenants or give value for them, so I told them the forward any off boarding instructions promptly so I can return any equipment they want back before I GTFO of this trash fire.

Boss apologized and said he was sorry I didn't get what I wanted. I told him he was wrong, it was never about money, it was about leaving on my own terms, with my integrity intact which is precisely what I'm doing.

You appear to have worked with some real assholes. I can sympathize, having been there myself.

It's Corporate and Legal. As a whole, it's been a decent corp to work for but a few years ago they started acting like a REALLY big corp. I mean, they're evil but they have a pretty good facade and I'm not gonna complain about the compensation.

Test driving NordVPN. I've got my choice of NordVPN or Surfshark. Long term, Surfshark is cheaper, but it may not be adequate.

Right? The only real power that a person has in this spot is the power to withhold labor and consent, and to uphold my own principles and ideas about the value of labor. Regardless if what anyone else might think, this a personal victory because I'm the only who came out of this with goals met.

They couldn't win because not only did they hold no cards, we weren't even playing the same game.

I was surprised, my renewed passport came this morning, only five days from when they received the application. I did expedite, but demand must be pretty low.

I'm a little vexed the only option was for the version with something like 18 pages for stamps, I used nearly 18 pages in my old passport last year alone. I won't be traveling as much but almost all of my travel will require at least a page for each trip.
